i think using AM, there is NO advantage being in an outport (that had been my experience), whereas using OW partners, there is an advantage to being in an outport in that it opens up slightly more redemption availability...

My experience has been different - I remember searching previously for MEL-HKG and finding zero but on the same dates if I searched MEL-BKK it would suddenly show CX availability on MEL-HKG.

What's the point though? The program is useless.

The only value I can see with QF is the ability to book EK award seats with great availability. Now that they've cut F from the HKG-BKK daily makes this far less valuable though.

Aside from that issue, percysmith, I mainly use for EK F and J since it's an airline where I don't have to compete with other oneworld FFP for availability. It's also OK value for the oneworld award although AM is probably still better in that respect.

I heard that BEA is not waiving the annual fee even the annual spending amount of HKD $90,000 (?) is met. So probably they’re rethinking the waiver criteria.

just want to check latest ccb eye math are correct:

Below all assuming single transaction over HKD $200:
Local payWave = 1 mile / $3 ($75,000 a year)
Local online = 1 mile / $3 (same $75,000 bucket)
Local travel agents - 1 mile per $2.14 spent ($50,000 a year)
Overseas (non-paywave) = 1 mile / $3 (same $50,000 a year bucket)
Overseas + PayWave = 1 mile / $2.14 (same $50,000 a year bucket)
Overseas + online = 1 mile / $2.14 (same $50,000 a year bucket)
Local Designated Local Sports, Entertainment and Apparel Merchants = 1 mile / $1.5 (no cap?)

If any of the above single transaction are less than $200, 1 mile / $15

Can't confirm the MPDs above (but would love for someone else to as I'd like to know as well), but I don't think the $200 minimum per transaction is a thing. I've reliably been receiving 1 mile / $3 on payWave and Apple Pay transactions since I received the card earlier this year.
