Hi there,

I am considering the Citibank Premiermiles CC and wanted to know whether online purchases (made on foreign sites such as Amazon etc...) qualify for the 1 mile/3HKD earn? Anyone has had first hand experience with this situation?

Thanks for the help!

They certainly count as "Overseas" so long as you take the bill in the USD/GBP/etc (depending on which Amazon site) rather than let Amazon convert to HKD. That being so, I would expect them to get the 1mile/3HKD rate assuming you meet the minimum monthly spend of HKD20,000, but I'm not currently spending on my PremierMiles card at that rate so I can't be 100% sure.

"These are not Eligible Transactions: Transactions without the need to present physical credit card: online transactions, mail, fax and telephone orders;"

I wonder if Apple Pay transactions at restaurants count?

As far as I know, adding cash to Starbucks card goes as a regular purchase (no different from buying something at Starbucks, same MCC).
But what's the point? Do you have a way to cash out from Starbucks card?

hi all, I was wondering if u guys know what would be the best cards for medical bills in order of over 100k as baby is due in a few months. i think there would be separate bills for private doctors and hospital. I currently have HSBC vs max on dining, standard chartered asiamiles, ae cx and boc icard. advice appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you, currently paying the ongoing scans/check-ups with DBS Black (as I'm fulfilling the welcome offer for local spend) and/or CCB Eye ($3 / mile on payWave transactions).

What I would like to know is which card is best to settle the massive bill with when checking out of the hospital post delivery. I'd imagine it would be safest to give the bank a heads-up on the big transaction, but not quite sure which card to use yet.

If you can, you should use the RSVP welcome offer for CX Elite Amex. The link I found may be expired, but sometimes it still works. Or you need to find the latest one from the HK forums.
$2/mile for HKD100k local spending, $1/mile for HKD100k foreign spending. Its the only welcome offer I think is worth churning at higher spending ranges.

Actually has anyone had experience cancelling the card before 1 year is up (there is a clause that says you have to wait a year to cancel, or they can retract your points)?
