Agreed! They kept that same charade on both my flights last month despite the aircraft being fitted with Wifi. When I got KQF, it had Wifi but they still used the same charade which actually kind of annoyed me, because they did not do this when I got KQE back in December. It also annoyed me that when I got KQS, they used the same charade despite Wifi being enabled on that aircraft. My other two 77G flights I understand though because no 77G has Wifi.

Yes! Confirmed (essentially)!
Here's the info. (codeshares ignored). Although no KA birds have Wifi yet, I've included KA because sometimes CX metal is used on KA routes including KA486 on that day. I also find it interesting that CX548 had guaranteed wifi, and is the only 777 of the bunch to say that. It makes me think CX proactively put a Wi-fi bird on that route, which I think is probably one of/the most lucrative regional flights.

Your odds are decent and improving by the week...CX has been churning out a lot of 77H->77A conversions lately (that's a 9 across to 10 across economy conversion, for the four class 777 variant). When those conversions are happening, they're often coming out with WiFi domes too.
At this stage 13/32 planes eligible to fly that route (4 class 777s) have WiFi , and those odds will be even better by the time you fly. Certainly nothing to bank on, but it's basically just probability. You can probably assume at least 1-2 more birds will be converted by then, and maybe one in the shop. I don't think it's unrealistic to assume almost 50/50 odds for wifi on that route in a month or so.

One wifi subscription to share across devices
Hi guys,
I can't seem to find answer to this question... Is it possible to use a wifi subscription onboard on different devices not concurrently? I.e. be able to check email on my laptop, and then switch to my phone later for WhatsApp or other things, before switching back to the laptop again throughout the flight?

i do this all the time. I usually use WiFi through my phone for most of the flight to monitor emails and WhatsApp messages, switching to my laptop later as needed

For some reason in my head I think you can do this for one, but not the other. (They use two different service providers)? I could be confusing it with another carrier.

Did this for the A350, alternating between my iPhone and iPad. Never tried wifi on 777.
