2018 Chairman’s drinks?

anyone going to the 2018 version?

Can anyone who went last year give a verdict as to whether it was worthwhile / intimate? Or is this like a feel good session for 100+ Diamonds?

No DM event invite for 2 straight years. Boo.

I'm clearly not generating enough revenue for CX. Or maybe I redeem too many F tickets.
Wongo and fairhsa like this.

Have they sent it out already? Guess not for me this year.

OT but what I was more interested in was how to get those Clockeflap VIP passes.

Are you being sarcastic? Or are there really hordes of our motley brethren? I skipped last year....if it's in the ballpark you suggest, definitely not going.

They booked the hotel ballroom for this so I assume it will be of that scale (300-400 guests)...

The venue holds 500 - 1100 people depending on configuration.
I was invited, but no desire to go.

There is opportunity to talk with senior management there (eg Greg Hughes, the network planning lady etc) and they were briefed to go up to passengers and talk to them. But just like all conversations with CX management from passengers, don't expect direct action.

If it's like last year, it's likely you'll get some tidbits about new initiatives (routes etc).

Sorry to go off-topic but I've seen some for sale on various websites/fb groups.

I got the invitation but my wife didn't so it's a subset of DMs clearly. Neither of us can go as we're on a flight to South Africa that day (on Asia Miles!) but the times I've been in the past I wouldn't describe it as 'intimate'. Quite a lot of people, a speech and a toast, that's it really.
Got an invite to the Clockenflap tent as well but I was travelling and replied one day too late: all gone, so that's a popular freebie from Cathay!

They should just bring in a band and drown everyones discussion during the night so n discussions were actually happen. I remember the year they announced the changes to the Marco Polo Club, instead of cocktails, CX organized a cocktail concert of Christmas carols in Manila...no one ended up having to discuss the changes through out the concert. hehehehe
