Booked paid I, used redemption to First Class - SFO - HKG

Booked paid I, used redemption to First Class - SFO - HKG
Received 90 points (normal for paid I) but my understanding was that redemptions got credited for points earned, to the new fare class booked into. Did something change? I estimated I should have got 125 points..... Anyones knowledge / links appreciated. I thought this was one of the plus points of the program ?

CLUB BENEFITS

Bookable Upgrades

Gold and Diamond members can earn Bookable Upgrades to secure an upgrade to the next cabin class when they reach a certain number of club points. These can be booked in advance, and all of the benefits, plus the number of club points and Asia Miles earned, are based on the upgraded cabin class. This is the only upgrade type with this feature.

So did you use a bookable upgrade for your trip or a Asia miles upgrade?

Redemptions have never earned higher mileage.

Bookable upgrades, in their short history, always have.

Thumb of rule. You never get club points whenever you use Asia Miles.
