TPE in-town check-in

According to CX's website.......

https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...l-airport.html
Effective 1 June 2018, passengers can check in and get boarding pass at the kiosks available at Taoyuan Airport MRT A1 Taipei Main Station. For baggage check-in, please proceed to Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1.
But from both previous news reporting in Taiwan and TPE airport website, CX should yet to be joined in-town check in

Anyone has any update? Thanks

桃園機場捷運台北車站目前只有本國籍的華航、華信、長榮、立榮4家空公司提供預辦登機服務,桃園國際機場今天證實,國泰港龍航空及亞洲航空預計10月也會加入這項 服務。

The messsage from CX is correct. You can print boarding pass but can’t check luggage there.

When the airport MRT started CX/KA was offered counters for in-town check in (and bag drop). They declined stating lack of demand among CX/KA's pax.

That's just dumb. I'd love to see the market research (or lack thereof) on that one!

This was last year's news when the airport express just started.

Rough translation:
The Taoyuan Airport Company encouraged foreign airlines (in addition to CI and BR) to participate in in-town check in at Taipei Main Station. However, all foreign airlines declined.
Cathay Pacific is Taiwan's largest foreign carrier with 163 flights out of TPE each week. According to CX, there is little demand for in-town check in after the company's evaluation which would justify the additional manpower. CX would continuously monitor and consider the addition in future.

Instead of passenger demand, I'd say all non local airlines were adopting a prudent view to the Taoyuan Airport Metro system as a result of all those negative news before the launch

Update:

The kiosks at Taipei Main Station will now be able to print bag tags and one can check bags there via self-service machines. There will be no CX agent there. Anyone that needs agent service (including UM) and those going to Canada, having ferry connections, or with oversized / overweight / paper box / soft container checked bags still need to proceed to the airport.

One thing that is very weird to me is that, the service is available until 21:30, but one must check in 3 hours before and for flights departing on the same day only. Currently, the last CX flight leaves at 21:35 (newly added).

Same apply to their departures before 9.... I think it's written in such way so just in case a flight delayed to 00:30+1 or even further you can still use the TPE in town check in

The first train leaves at 6am, so I guess 6am makes some sense, although one could argue that it should open at 5:30am instead as people can finish check-in and then take the first train. I agree that the wording would only make sense in consideration of flights that may be delayed to 00:30+1.
