CX/KA now lists Taiwan as Taiwan China

How will this affect its substantial business interests in Taiwan? Or can it be made up by goodwill gestures from CAAC? Interested to know people’s thoughts.

None. Taiwan agrees that it is China (ROC). As long as it doesnt say Taiwan (PRC) Which it doesn't, either in english or chinese.

American Airlines, United and Delta made this change today, too. Citing the threat of sanctions by the Chinese government.

Perhaps on July 1, 2047, HKG will be listed as Hong Kong, Guangdong, China?

Kowloon would be "Kowloon, Guangdong, China" and Wanchai will be "Wanchai, Guangdong, China" etc.

Not intended to make the post anything political. Just pure curiosity on the business impact.

Doubt it. Presume will be the fifth direct controlled city (Shanghai/ Beijing/ Tianjin/ Chongqing) rather than part of a province

I don't think the impact is anything significant, but I would suggest CX to look at how the US3 or JAL/ANA manage to keep both sides happy (or at least satisfy the requirement without offending anyone) rather than blindly adding the word China as what they were asked, given their large presence on both side.

Actually, they didn't: AA removed the country name from all cities in Taiwan, while DL and UA removed the country name from all cities in both Taiwan and China.

It won't change much, it's not like Taiwanese businesses have other choices. China forced all the major airlines to adopt this change.
