Mixed class booking exploit

https://www.flyasia.co/2018/06/23/as...5%99%E5%AD%B8/

Standard, Choice and Tailored Awards allow mixed cabin redemption. The mileage requirement calculation is based on the haul of each inbound and outbound direction and the prorated ratio derived from Great Circle Distance for each sector. The mileage sum is rounded down to the nearest hundred. – Flight Awards – Standard, Choice & Tailored Awards, Point. 5
BKK-HKG (1,049mi) in Y: 10,000 Asia Miles × 1,049/1,550 = 6,767 Asia Miles
HKG-TPE (501mi) in F: 40,000 Asia Miles × 501/1,550 = 12,929 Asia Miles

(a straight HKG-TPE in F is 25,000 AM)

It is well documented in TNC, so there is nothing to trick. The best solution is to max the crap out of it, so cx would fix the loophole against bloggers

As a comparison, I would be curious as to what a AM member sees for say the first half of June 2019 for say YYZ to HKG for Y+ and J. As of today, June 28, I see nothing on CX at 355 to 352 out then from 351 to May 31, 2019 (just stopped looking at this point), generally up to 4 Y+ on most flights give or take and no J. Mostly interested in whether AM members see standard J awards for the same period and when does it start and if there are also choice awards at 360 in J.

I have burned through most of my BA miles so I am at the point where I will probably consider switching to AM depending on what I think my travel for business will be in the next few years. I redeem almost all my BA miles on CX and have done so for the last 8 years.

Confirmed your finding on Avios
CX: can access J as standard awards <-- withheld from partner

Very much appreciated since perhaps this is how other partners will move to reward their own loyal members. Perhaps I underestimated the number of people using other miles to redeem solely on CX. Have to give management at CX a hats off for what truly is a enhancement for its members.

Hopefully this is a temporary IT issue for J seats, as F seats seem to be available to partners. Otherwise it will be more difficult to use Alaska miles on CX.

But if one doesn't fly the first leg say BKK-HKG in that example, how can (s)he fly the HKG-TPE segment? And as last leg can now only redeem TPE-HKG instead of TPE-HKG-BKK, waste seat should be even less than before...

I think that is the point. I doubt it is an IT issue. But perhaps I will be wrong.

Which reward tier should I look for when looking to redeem CX flights via BAEC in business class HKG-TYO?

I tried booking a reward flight on 18 OCT but nothing shows up on BA but plenty on AM...
