This demonstrates once again Cathay Asia Miles is useless.

Even two seats (not pictured but currently available.
It is a known bug that CX will require (but make available) Choice and Tailored Miles from own members for unmarried segment seats that it will make available to partners such BAEC as married segments. But the seat is always available as unmarried to AM too (just for a backside-shafting number of miles)

17 Dec HKG-ZRH business redemption is available. As Tailored. Bit disappointed the agents weren't able to tell you that.

sorry to chime in,
I just have a question. It was my understanding that if something cannot be done online and have to call the Service Centre, one would pay the online fee as opposed to the offline fee (which is the rule with BA).
I had to change one of my segments on an upcoming (oneway award) itinerary, but I couldn't seem to do it online, so I called MPC. The agent was insistent that I have to pay the offline fee USD40, regardless of whether I am able to do it online or not. So I relented and paid USD40.
My question is, did I misunderstand, and was she right to charge USD40?
cheers

The agent is right. The AM rule differs from the BAEC rule. See https://www.asiamiles.com/en/terms-a...vice-fees.html. It doesn't mention any exemption or exception.

AM must have read this too. They made instant rectifications against this loophole overnight:
Old online rule: 10 days from first departure for any uncleared sector
New online rule: 2 weeks from waitlist creation date for any cleared sector
And one month from first departure date for totally uncleared waitlists.
