Waitlisted on 16 Dec for flights on Cathay from Sin- FRA, CDG, MXP, ZRH. No difference even with BKK as a starting point
Avios shows 2 J available for CDG, FRA, ZRH for the above Cathay flights. I only checked 16 Dec cause thats the date that i need to fly

This demonstrates once again Cathay Asia Miles is useless.

17 Dec HKG-ZRH business redemption is available. As Tailored. Bit disappointed the agents weren't able to tell you that.

Even two seats (not pictured but currently available.

It is a known bug that CX will require (but make available) Choice and Tailored Miles from own members for unmarried segment seats that it will make available to partners such BAEC as married segments. But the seat is always available as unmarried to AM too (just for a backside-shafting number of miles)

I could stomach a Choice award at 90+k miles, but a tailored award is really out of my league. Looks like I can't avoid redeeming my miles on QR

Isn't that previously you need to have 100% miles in account before they allow you to waitlist?

sorry to chime in,

I just have a question. It was my understanding that if something cannot be done online and have to call the Service Centre, one would pay the online fee as opposed to the offline fee (which is the rule with BA).

I had to change one of my segments on an upcoming (oneway award) itinerary, but I couldn't seem to do it online, so I called MPC. The agent was insistent that I have to pay the offline fee USD40, regardless of whether I am able to do it online or not. So I relented and paid USD40.

My question is, did I misunderstand, and was she right to charge USD40?

cheers

The agent is right. The AM rule differs from the BAEC rule. See https://www.asiamiles.com/en/terms-a...vice-fees.html. It doesn't mention any exemption or exception.

Thanks Ernest! Good to know, yet rather disappointing on AM/MPC's part.

This is a significant -- and alarming -- change. This just surfaced today?

This deserves its own thread.

i do not mean they are correct, but thats how the way it is and usually we will have to pay it.

even worse when they dont clear the waitlist so i have to call in and alert them the seats available
