First Flight to MNL Today

B-LXA made the first commercial A350-1000 flight to MNL this morning, flying as CX907. I presume the return on CX906 is forthcoming shortly.

MNL is now the 3rd city to get the A350-1000. Since delivery it had been exclusively flying TPE and BKK until today.

Must admit - I liked Olympus - it was a very good bed, but a mediocre seat. As I rarely/ never took daytime long haul flights, it worked for me

Isn't MNL the fourth one? It has flown 659/650 to SIN.

Delivery date for B-LXC (next A350-1000)?

Does anyone know the delivery date for B-LXC and/or if a crew has already been ferried to TLS for delivery? I know it has taken at least 4, I think possibly 5 test flights so far. Usually ~5 or so test flights is the upper-end pre delivery.

From Flightradar24, B-LXC was moved to the delivery center yesterday. But I still have no idea about the exact delivery date.

I was in the inaugural Manila flight on Monday, and again on the -1000 yesterday back to HKG (both J). Having come off the EWR flight Monday morning I was A350d out by the time I arrived in MNL...!

FWIW On leg to MNL captain did mention a few times that it was an inaugural, but not much else until we got to MNL. There were about 12 people on the jetbridge taking video on their phones as we waited to be towed in (they hadn’t marked where to park yet...) and then once deplaned there were about 5 staff members holding a welcome to the “A350-1000 to Manila” sign. It was quite nice, they were clearly very proud.
on the return yesterday, the ISM (is that right? The main cabin lead that wears the black outfit, I’m a BAer so may be off on terminology) was absolutely beyond proud of the plane. She made a number of comments about how great it was, it was so new, so clean, so quiet, nice long J cabin, and how proud they were to have in the fleet.

It was all very genuine - and really nice to see the pride and care (from a jaded US based BA OWE member!).
FlyPointyEnd and Arbeysix like this.

^agree.

I also liked the fact that the seat had adjustable lumbar support and how your IFE and computer faced away from the aisle; offers so much more privacy

Here's one of the PH's NAIA Press Corp with video/photos of the inaugural.

CX Airbus pilots are now in TLS. My guess is B-LXC is coming quite soon.

Did 2 sectors on the 351 this week ( 1xY 1xW), the problems with poor quality construction and cabin finishing seem to persist from the 359 (particularly in lavatories where the stupid plug control confuses people to leave the sink filled with dirty water).

9 across seating is just unbearable in Y, middle seat pax spread out and you end up half in the aisle getting bumped by every pax.

PE was better in bulkhead row but new IFE controls are permanently jammed in by the seat and tray is too flimsy for a full size laptop.

Lots of gear noise for a new aircraft and both landings were very hard compared to other airbus.

Wifi was good but very unexpected when it will be turned on or off - instructions suggest at 10k feet into climb or descent but was really just random when it seemed to be switched on or off.

i think 9 on 351 is already generous in Y.. as 351 is chosen by many as 773ER replacement i wont be surprised to see it 10abrest at not so distant future

anyway i refuse to fly airlines on Y on 10abrest for widebody (assuming 747 r all gone)

A350 won't go 10 abreast on full service carriers
Only Air Caraibes' a350 is 10 abreast in Y, that results in 16.8" width. That's a high density layout for low cost carriers a la Air Asia's 9 abreast A330
Remember, airbus is pushing for 18" to be minimum standard seat width across its planes for full service airlines

Hey guys. I'm flying MAD-HKG in December, and I was wondering if it was worth it to get the seats in row 59.And if anyone has flown in these seats already what is your experience.

Thanks!!
