Glad to see Chateau Lynch Bages 2008 back.
But...the Bages 08 is replacing Montrose 05! That's a downgrade too.

Although i's a good thing to be "complaining" about Lynch Bages I suppose. But 08 is just way too young, and definitely not the vintage 05 was.

Are they rotating champagnes monthly now? Trying to figure out what will be served on HKG-JFK in February.

Thx for pointed out. Have not tried Montrose 05 yet.
I might check with my dealer try a taste.
Had Lynch Bages 06 long time ago, don't feel any difference with 08, maybe I am not expert at all.
But, compare F&B with JL, CX is one or two steps below for sure. All my rice was super hard, the lobster was not as fresh as before (Lucky me had lobster this time, last three times was Chicken, Cod, and Cod).
The only thing nice is the bed.
What a shame, there are so many good restaurants in HKG, why CX can't find a better supplier like JL.
Also, the biggest shame to CX is the Amenity kit!! That's a big joke!! Especially the male version. A big empty box.
To sum up, CX: good for bed, PJ, and that's all.

To be fair, CX has one of the best lounges, the first class lounge The Pier and The Wing is unbeatable.
I wish CX could bring the lounge quality food to inflight. Cathay Delight always good to have on the ground.

I've had a small citrus lobster salad thingy served with the PDB while the doors are still open. I liked it.

You have clearly not been to LH FCT. LH Satellite FCL in MUC or LX FCL E. CX Pier & Wing FCL’s are very nice, unbeatable, certainly not

Probably even made more so by their exclusivity. La P is $$ only, no redemptions; while, SQ F (at least TPACs) allow only for krisflyer, not bargain basement F partner miles pricing like CX.

Indeed, LH has the fancy first class terminal, but I don't smoke cigare. And, only two day-bed rooms.
Anyway, I was trying to compare with JL lounge in TYO.
For someone based in NA, CX HKG lounges are really standing out.

I don’t smoke either but the quality of the food in the LH F dining rooms is vastly superior to CX F lounges, IMHO

FCT does only have 2 day rooms but there are 2 in FCL A & 2 in FCL B also.

I find the JL F lounges at NRT so-so, not so great, both as lounges and with respect to food. I've heard that they're better at HND.

Completely agree. People who are accustomed to J and F lounges in Asia don't know how good they have it!

Agree. Same onboard, at least in F.

Seriously! Some lounges in the USA don't even have washrooms, let alone showers, where you'd have to use the lavatory outside in the terminal. Hot food isn't common either, let alone a sit down restaurant with a variety of dishes, where if one were inclined, can order and sample each of them.
