Question: Cathay First Overnight Service

Hi,

We’re considering a trip and would like to know how the Cathay overnight flights from HKG structure their service in First. Essentially trying to decide whether a daytime or overnight flight is preferable.

CX0255 as an example leaves HKG for LHR at 1am.
Is it expected that passengers would have eaten in the lounge and want to go straight to bed? Then a formal meal service later in the flight?

Thank you.

CX F is full dine-on-demand, meaning you can eat anytime you wish. The menu on midnight/1am departing flights would have a supper service, hot snacks and a full breakfast on offer.

The only difference between supper and dinner is one fewer entree choice (3 consisting of 2 western and 1 chinese instead of 4)

You can of course have a sumptuous dinner at the lounge in HKG and go straight to sleep!

Bear in mind 255 is operated by LHR based crew

No, there are meals, and you can dine on demand. When you are ready to sleep, ask the FA to prepare your bed. If you know when you like to eat, let them know and they will wake you up. That is what First class is all about. They are at your service.

Cathay First is pretty consistent regardless of departure time. It’s not like SQ sleeper vs dinner services.

If you go to LHR, you will at least get the "premium wines", different from what to expect to airports like FRA. "Supper" indeed is only one main course less. You will have enough choices usually.
