so Dublin can sustain year round services but
Capetown, Copenhagen , Christchurch who SQ serves year round , some daily can only be seasonal?

Must be some huge Irish demand that CX can see but no one else in Asia does

Like HK, Dublin a (small) hub for the financial services industry which the others are not. That helps yields.

CPT and CHC are small *A hubs at best. On the other hand, FRA and ZRH are both *A hubs but both get daily CX service.

This can't be the reason CX isn't flying year-round to those places.

but it may be the reason why SQ can flying year-round but CX can only have seasonal service.

The dates seem reasonable, who would want to go to CPT in their winter, although it would have been nice if they had extended the dates a month or so either side

bcn was seasonal too and they will be 5/week this year. Be patient, each of these destinations will need 2 more aircraft if flying daily year round; and it takes time for planes to deliver. Either u get 1 place year round daily, or 4 places 3-4 times a week seasonal.

My understanding is the frequencies are slightly lower than expected as they decided to keep CHC

CHC must be kept, otherwise, new Zealand government may not approve the CX-NZ JV.

Bumping this query.

Are there any recollections out there of how long it took before an announced future service became available for award redemption?

Just checked again for award availability for partners (via BA) and on Asia Miles: still no inventory out there yet.

Also, going off the EF seatmap (not ideal, I know), apparently no seats sold on CX795 for Nov 13 either. 9's on everything except Q5 and O0...

I'll put the larger question I started a new thread on when awards load out on the wider CX forum, hoping we get a bite out there.
