Saw this and got excited ... booked CX 907 on August 1 a while back as a trip back to the PH for my birthday, what a nice gift from CX to give me a new plane by coincidence.

i wouldnt get too excited about their fleet plan in 7mths time... delays in delivery can happen easily....

I find it cool that CX likes to put its new long-haul aircraft into rotation on the HKG-TPE segment.....it was pretty neat flying the A359 hard product my entire return trip TPE-HKG-EWR a few weeks ago. Looks like one could fly the new 350-1000 IAD-HKG-TPE once that routing gets underway.....

...not to mention CX’s penchant for equipment swaps on regional flights.

Ill book it closer to the day, but to be honest there wouldn't be anything new on the aircraft so Im not totally excited about it.

I doubt the inaugural route will switch because a) this aircraft isn't really a 'new' one, just a variant of an existing one in the fleet b) the A350-900 was on this same route because of it's historical significance as CX's first ever commercial route c) it's a quick turnaround and is good as an equipment familiarization route

At most the date will be pushed back due to delivery or operations and most likely the 351 aircraft will not last as a regular on this route beyond the first week or two.

I'm almost 100% certain this is not the reason this route was used for the first A350-900 flights.

Obviously not the commercial reason, just the PR reason ... but reason still, anyway the flight is 7 months from now and whether it's on an A330 regional or the A350-1000, I'm still taking it because it's the only time of the year I actually unplug from work for an extended time.

Is this a reason why CX have zeroed out availability on CX717 BKK-SIN for most of October? Any idea why that would be, and how I can book it?

According to AusBT 351 will replace 110/111 (last remaining 330 on SYD) later this year.

It looks like for most of the schedule. I have been looking for June and July and nothing. Not sure if it has anything to do with route switching to A350 as was plenty of availability the other day. Would appreciate any insight also.

I was on their A350 during the first month of service on the TPE route.... Seats were not working properly, inflight wifi was down, some toilets were not flushing... won't make that mistake again.. better to let them run in the planes first..
