For the Citi Rewards Card Welcome Offer (135,000 Points) - accumulate spending of HK$10,000 or above within the first 2 months from the date of card issuance.

Can the HK$10,000.00 be spent in any category?

Per my last post regarding Stan Chart and date of purchase, I complained and they agreed to treating it as an exception granting me the points. I guess the lesson is 'if you don't succeed the first time, try again!'

Hello all, I am just wondering if this situation is possible. Let's say for simplicity sake, I will just use one credit card, the SCB Asia Miles card.

Can I get two (or is 3 the max?) supplementary credit cards meaning a total of 3 cards under my Asia Miles account. Link my personal card to my WeChat, Alipay and olepay. Each month pull out $5000 each for a total of $15,000. I believe this should net me around 2916AM per month ($5000/6 for wechat and olepay each and $5000/4 for alipay). Can I give my wife and my father a supplementary card each, link to their respective wechat, alipay and olepay accounts and do the same thing. So in total each month I can get around 8748AM at no real cost.

Is this plan feasible?

[Edit] just noticed that scb AM card doesn't work for wechat, so I'll use my DBS black mc for wechat instead.

Has anyone successfully used their HK WeChat wallet to pay for stuff in China? I'm currently in Shenzhen but am unable to pay with the HK wallet. Shows an error on the merchant side when they scan my QR code, and if I scan their code it will automatically revert to my China wallet/card.

EDIT: Just looked through the FAQ and only four merchants are supported at this stage: Didi, 12306, Meituan and Dianping.

Yup

They're really trying to discourage cash. In their way which does not consider legacies or exceptions.

Interesting - I was under the impression that the ability to link foreign (incl HK) cards to WeChat China Wallets were exclusively for verification purposes, and not for payments.

I tried paying for a HSR ticket at Futian Station yesterday using my HK wallet but that didn't work either. Had to use my China wallet...

Could someone please help confirm for me. since I only have the SCB AM, DBS Black, CX card, and Bankcomm Diamond, my best strategy is to bind my scb am to alipay and use that whenever it is possible since it has a value of $4/1am. For dining and online purchases, use scb and the the rest Jett use either scb or dbs as it would be the same.

SCB AM for Alipay and Dining: yes.

DBS Black: Better DBS Black, there's a chance of conversion promotion. Although BEA Flyer World will guarantee a 16.67% earn increase
