For those playing the Citi tax payment promo, I think it's best to play with the Citi Rewards card and use card to spend $1000 via mobile payment in supermarkets/etc. We can get the most points while meeting requirement for tax payment promo. Let me know if there is a better way to meet this $1000 requirement.

Is anyone else having problems with their cards getting compromised with unauthorised transactions on Netflix? It has now happened twice in 3 months on my wife's supplementary card and once on my main card. Incredibly annoying having to update payment information across so many websites + autopay every time it happens.

Not Netflix, but iTunes. I've had to cancel my card twice now as well in the last 6 months. Both times were 3x 700-1000HKD payments within two minutes of each other. Very annoying indeed.

I have had something similar happen on 3 cards. All were linked to CX at some point.

Happened to me in August with my DahSing BA card. Luckily only once (iTunes, 15 charges of 278$ within minutes). The annoying part was that it happened when I was in Europe for another month.

I just went back and checked my Citi card going back to July and it seems to be fine (although mine is limited to Supermarkets and Telecoms only in use). My primary card is my US Chase CSR (used with CX and BA) and I haven't seen any issues there yet. Are we sure that the leak is from Citi and not from one of the vendors?

Don't all CC companies in HK now have to send an SMS immediately for all Cardholder Not Present transactions? I know I get loads of them from HSBC. (Don't use my Citi PremierMiles for much of that stuff so can't be sure they do, but I thought it was a HKMA rule now?)

I have notifications for every time there's a transaction, so the first time it was me calling them. Second time they emailed - and tried to call me - before I noticed. Both times I've called iTunes as well and managed to get them to refund the charges straight away, rather than wait the supposed 30 days it would take Citibank.

Ha. It happened to me a few weeks ago - just after I moved to Europe permanently. Luckily they sent a new card over here quite quickly - although not quickly enough for me to purchase Air China's discount EU > Aus fare with a points earning card

Ah, interesting, so despite moving to Europe permanently you continue to use Dah Sing's BA card.

Not an uncommon strategy if you have bank balances in foreign currency from previous domicile and you need to spend it down.

For previous US residents, one strategy I see more than once is to pay foreign currency with US cards instead of HK cards to avoid FTF.
