No, but I can say that the MID of a different (un-upgraded) Vanguard store is 010132113037001. Is that similar enough to suggest that U-Select is the same as Vanguard?

I'm actually in Dining this year, but even so, it's still a question of 0.4% or 1.6%.

Educated guess yes but need $60 transaction to be certain

ps sorry $125 not $60. We need to make sure your Rewardcash increases by 2rc, not just 1RC for the rest which may also be rounding.

Bankcomm promo earning rates for Mon-Thurs spending

$1.85/AM for CUP
$2.18/AM for non-Diamond CUP
$2.18/AM for Visa (I think we should structure it as this - play the CUP first and Visa only if needed. In which case the two-card earn should be allocated to Visa, taking the earn rate down to $1.6/AM)

At $15k level:
$2.12/AM for CUP
$2.57/AM for non-Diamond CUP
$3.27/AM for Visa ($2.77/AM incl two-card)
Just wondering. What are the earning rates on the current Bankcomm promo if you end up spending on Mon-Thurs instead? (i.e. don't get the Fri-Sun spending bonus)

CCB has finally implemented Apple Pay functionality to their credit cards.

What I'm wondering is, would Apple Pay count for 5X bonus points on the eye card in the same way that Visa payWave transactions do?

Probably closer to $3...

But you only need to put $5,000 on Fri/Sat/Sun to get above rates...

Presume not. Not for BoC i-card anyway

Apple Pay is a separate Application ID from Paywave AFAIK.

Apple Pay is slow as anyway - acquirers here are slow in authenticating transactions (compared to NZ, Canada) and no acquirer allows offline (non-) authentication with Apple Pay/Android Pay (wanna guess why?) - I don't use Apple Pay/Android Pay unless there's a specific bonus to it.

It is not. HSBC 6X is not whole MCC - otherwise we don't need to worry about Vanguard Supermarket --> U-Select

My HSBC Visa Sig is my main card, so I'm not going to be able to test this reliably.
I think what we need is someone who is signed up to Home and also has a Premier Mastercard which they don't use. They can use it to make a single purchase of, say, $100 and see whether they get 0-1 RC (=0.4%) or 2 RC (2.4%).

Tried to open a CCB Premier account today to get the VI card.
I'm not Perm HKID but have been here 6 years now. They want proof of my permanent address in my home country? But I don't live there and don't own/rent property there anymore.
Are HK banks all so stupid (or is this a mainland bank?). Even HSBC tried to pull that on me last year - but came to their senses when they realised how stupid it sounded.

I was asked to provide documents for my "Name Change" by the same bank. The problem is I never ever changed my name. Three weeks later they got back to me saying that I failed to disclose that I added a Chinese name to my HKID which they consider a name change and are requesting documents. I sent them a copy of my HKSAR passport as I became a citizen which is why the Chinese name was added. Application Rejected. Oh and I have been here 28 Years.

Good Luck !

Gosh. That sounds painful!
So they just rejected your business? Was this for a bank account or a credit card?
The stupid thing here too is that I am an existing customer of the bank (with a CCB eye card)

Has anyone done a Amex global transfer of the CX Elite card, e.g. from HK -> Canada? Just wondering what happens to the benefits, i.e. free entry into Plaza Premium Lounges....
