Citi Prestige
Overseas earn and free car insurance

But the need for a damage report is testing my patience right now, even though the fault is with the car rental company (Europcar) (I might need to file a charge not recognised chargeback if they continue to resist submitting damage report).

Was in the middle of a call with HSBC Customer Serivce, asking about my limit. Apparently they told me there were two limits - one for my Red Hot Rewards, and one for my Visa Signature bonus.

This seems to be a new development. I've never been given 2 splits before, wondering if that means RHR initial HKD 100k will only be consumed if you spend within your selected category? Whereas the Visa Signature 3x bonus will be consumed regardless of what category you spend in.

Unfortunately work interrupted this call and I was unable to ask him directly, but definitely worth investigating.

Many thanks. Any experience with no card slip car rental payments counting as retail spending with other banks besides Citi? OT: One rental with Europcar was enough for me. Never used them again after that.

It is
100k for VS (any of the 6X ROYC categories)
100k for your selected ROYC category [you don't have to put all extra 5X in one category but it is mathematically inefficient to split]

Because your selected ROYC category is a subset of all ROYC categories, your VS is guaranteed to be exhausted before your selected category will be.

OK maybe I've been using terminology inconsistently.

By promo I mean an occassional promo, like CCB 939 or Bankcomm Summer Spending

I didn't mean overseas earn rates like SCB AM overseas $4/AM or HSBC 6X ROYC (I count those as "normal", because they're ongoing) - I believe overseas "autopay" will count for those.

BEA website states waiving of annual fee upon hitting HKD 90k annual spending, but does anyone know how flexible / lenient they are with this requirement? I do not have a BEA account.

Did anyone here participate in a Citi Premiermiles promo earlier this year (March 15 - April 14) that promised a $600 cash rebate once a certain spending target is met? I wrote this down, have not been given the cash rebate and Citi cannot find this promo...
