YVR HKG going back to two flights a day

Sometime in Late June, YVR goes back to two flights a day---up until now they were rotating flights into YVR from YTO and JFK. This is a good sign.

I was in the CX office in Manhattan today and they indicated the JFK-YVR-HKG flight be going back to daily at the end of June, loads permitting.

It's a good sign, but if the loads don't improve by then, CX might well postpone this.

Many of the flights between HKG and YVR are currently sold out or very close to it. I just tried to book a flight into YVR On June 17th and no seats---same for the next three days. I will have to route myself via LAX or SFO---oh well.

Well, something is going on...end of June.

Business Class on almost every CX flight from 18June onwards between HKG and YVR/SFO and LAX is showing sold out, with a few F seats available. Economy is showing most classes sold out except Y and B.

End of SARS traffic or just school holidays?

The sold out flights to YVR is forcing me to route via LAX---this makes the return trip back home much longer. I guess I should be happy that some of the loads are back but I am now tempted to fly on another airline.

This particular Chinese travel agency in Vancouver has been advertising on a Chinese radio station recently about fares to asia on CX that are around CAD 900.
