Awful price increase. I remember the first vantage pass where I booked BKK + MLE for 10605 HKD including taxes and fees. Now it would be 20000 instead. What a steal

What does "up" mean, appearing after the price? Usual price?

Many airlines are already raising their fares and you are already seeing these across the board.
Just look at Qatar Airways' pricing with their so-called "weekly specials".

Remember, good times doesn't always last all the time but you will occasionally see bargain fares from various POS.

i just feel sorry for the ignorant crowd in HK. thanks but no thanks. I will take ex TPE as usual which comes with free flight change flexibility in addition to being cheaper than this bogus promotion

I would like to go ex-TPE, but this becomes an issue with heavier luggage.

Using the Vantage Pass, I can shave a little off the current price for HKG-LHR next Summer by taking a trip within Zone A as a SH.
What's a "typical" sale price for J in the recent sales for LHR direct? How does the $33,800+tax price compare?

Other oneworld options are typically cheaper: QR, AY and sometimes BA.

Tried reading past threads but couldn't find a similar situation. Say for example I book two fares in Zone F. On my second fare I decide to change the destination and dates completely but with a destination still in Zone F. Will there be more costs than the $2000 rebooking fee? What else am I missing?

Eh, it is also a totally manual solution, for travel agents/ call centres only. While I am glad to see that CX continues to support the 'traditional' brick 'n' mortar travel agents, it is all a bit 1995.

Why heavier luggage is a problem? ex-TPE stopover HKG two way C subclass fare is still cheaper... It's not a must to get I subclass fare which only allow you to fly with a transit at HKG only
