What's so special about the CX F soft product?
I normally fly to Europe / Australia with TG in F but as I am heading to JFK I thought I would give CX a go in paid F and have been seriously underwhelmed.
I transferred in to HK from a regional J flight - on arrival no information about transfer flight gate, no escort. I am used to this with TG but I can figure this stuff out and get myself to the lounge just didn't feel like much of a welcome on arrival.
Got to the lounge and tried to book a treatment - nothing available for the next 3.5 hours. Seriously?! what's the point in offering this service if it's inaccessible to the average passenger who turns up a couple of hours before their flight :/
The lounge is nicely laid out and fairly uncrowded but the upkeep of the washrooms is unacceptable - The door is what I'd expect from a dive pub or a club, not a first class lounge.
So maybe this is a rant and objectively all that's gone wrong is lack of hand holding, a missed massage and a door in disrepair but my level of expectation (set by both the cost and in comparison to TG) is way higher than this.
Isn't it about time Cathay had a dedicated F lounge as BA and SQ have?

CX has cut F to so few routes , and routes which major bank/corporate CEO's other important /rich people fly frequently- aka they will pay F regardless of whether it is the best in the world or not. their dominance at HKG and frequency gives them the added advantage
and on most routes CX F is superior to its competition- BA? really....
as CX is not trying to take F passengers from other airlines it does not have to offer the best....
they do not eve have F to Australia anymore...

Again? (Facepalm)
What did you eat in the concord room?
But neither is the TG F lounge dedicated to TG F pax only. So how different is CX to your normal travel patterns?
try look for cheaper fares. Your viewpoint may differ if you get the right price.

Good or bad, to be CX F remains about the bed. The bedding is still superior to most other carriers I'm familiar with and the width at the shoulders is superb.
I've been disappointed with CX F lately because on 3 flights recently (3!) I was woken up by chatting in the galley. If the bed is good it doesnt matter if the crew are going to chat loudly and wake you up.

CX F soft product - usually the service is exceptional. I guess being their own DM member in F they would no doubt do above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Obviously this is not always the case as it really depends on the crew on the day. But I'd say most of my F experience I'd rate from good to exceptional. Most would agree that Catering in F is still significantly behind some competitors. The menu is always very similar and the quality has gone down a lot.

Yes he's right
CX has really fallen behind and the only reason I still use them and pay extra is the convenience from Hong Kong. The massage in the first class lounge - every time I ask there's at least a 2 hour wait...who goes to the lounge this early? Scrap it, it's a joke

People who want a free massage go that early, obviously! As a retired leisure traveller, if I'm flying First then I tend to get to the lounge plenty early to enjoy its facilities - I am maybe old-fashioned in that I can still enjoy a day's journey without having to "maximise" every last minute.
