Thumbs up Wi-Fi on 777s / A330s - by 2020

1.) Does anyone with knowledge know when the first 77W will be reconfigured with WiFi? I swear I've read somewhere on here about it more recently, but I guess it's clearly not in this thread.
2.) Will the long-haul A333s get wifi?
3.) How about regional B773s?
4.) Am I correct to assume regional B772s won't, because they're leaving fleet soon?
5.) Will the regional A333s get wifi?
6.) How about KA?

Is there another thread about this somewhere? I seem to recall folks saying authoritative things.

Now that I'm regularly flying A359s regionally, my heavens is it great to have Wifi.

When your seat in Economy only has 17.x" width (i.e. when they refit the 777 into 3-4-3...)

CX says wi-fi to be retro-fitted by 2020. Will use a better technology than the current 777s.

Cathay Pacific and its regional arm Cathay Dragon will launch inflight Internet on its international Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 jets from the middle of 2018, allowing passengers on almost all international flights to enjoy a high-speed broadband connection above the clouds.
So the first of the jets with wifi will fly in about 6 months, any sightings of any of the 777 or 330 already undergoing retrofit?

I have noticed a few 77W with the bubble on the top. Not many but some. Will look more keenly from now on.

Many of the early 77Ws were delivered with the bubble so I don't think that can be used as a way to tell.

what does “international” mean in the context of a HK based carrier?

Just noticed on my recent trip, some 33P (those B-HL* series - most are 15-20 years old) had been upgraded to the new Panasonic IFE system.

You will notice the new Flight map and much better Resolution. - May be it is related to the Wifi as the system also compatible with inflight Wi-Fi.

Maybe, but it won't be enabled until there are enough frames with wifi to ensure their promotion of the service pays off.

Definitely no for CX. AC also seem don't have it - but this tool lets you put the date (coming week only) in so you never know.

I was told by a friend who was recently on the newly configured 777 (77K) that wifi was still not available. I guess they did not install the Gogo 2Ku system during the maintenance downtime.

Anyone know when CX are going to start the installation of wifi on the 777/330 fleet?

Moof. Pain only. No sweetener.
