Are all HKG lounges usually open Xmas day?

Will be transiting HKG on Xmas day and wondered if all the lounges will be open with regular service? Is it just like any other day? Thanks.

Yes. Plus an xmas tree or two at the entrance, and some minor decorations at the food areas probably.

Is Christmas an official holiday in Hong Kong? IIRC it isn't in Japan.

Yes it's a holiday in HK.

All the shops will be open too. Including around town. Almost nothing shuts on Xmas day in HK. Chinese New Year is another matter - but the airport continues as normal.

It is not in most non christian countries, and anyway most lounges doe not close on official holidays. In Japan Christmas is a normal day, same as anyother

Actually some shops may have extended hours just to make sure you can finish your Xmas shopping :p

It is but most places are open as normal. Christmas in HK is a throwback to British rule, the Chinese don't generally celebrate it.

Rule of thumb - if the airport is open, the lounge is open as well.

Excellent news thanks everyone ^. I just thought they might not open all the CX lounges if they expect less passengers that day. Sounds like it is business as usual. :D
