Great news. CX simply isn't staffed out for it.
Shouldn't encourage gluttony anyway
Now, when will Enhance 2.0 https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...grade-bid.html join DoD on the shelf?

In October's "The Journey", this question is posed by staff. It says they are pressing ahead with a soft launch of the Business Class offering:
I HAVE FRIENDS in Hong Kong who
either travel in Economy or Business Class
with us and their most common complaint
is the food. May I suggest that we allow
passengers in Business Class to choose
the food they would like to have on board?
In Economy this would not work, but how
about making more choices available?
From Johnny Loo,
B777 Simulator Instructor
Vivian Lo,
GM Customer Experience & Design:
Thanks for your question. Our food
proposition is something that is being
widely discussed at the moment, in
particular on our Business Class service.
A more premium and flexible dining trial
took place a few months ago which
allowed Business Class customers to
choose from a bigger menu with more
variety of food and at a time when it suits
them to eat. We were encouraged by the
generally very positive feedback received
from customers and are now working on
an implementation plan to commence
with a soft launch across the network.

This respondent is not in ISD, and we probably know how 'well' departments talk to each other at CX
Sure, there's been some 'soft' implementations - the burgers have fries now, and Sauternes replaced port. Etc.
I have heard that the FA union and ISD were unable to come to a solution/compromise on the crewing issue, and that is the major reason why this is stalling, in addition to concerns of cost savings unable to be realized on long day flights.

This week’s badly written SCMP article about CX talks about mattress pads on the “Gatwick to Chicago” route and dine on demand.

Makeshift helps
I once used a camping inflatable as mattress pad.
Got attention, though to slippery and somewhat cumbersome to transport in the carry-on bag.
Since then, I use a second doubled duvet as a mattress pad. Works somewhat.
A real mattress pad would be great, though.
DoD: Hmmmm, for me personally, better have a speedy meal serving with less frills.
