I'm quite interested how supper service can become DoD actually. Currently everything is served in a tray including a small appetiser and dessert. Will it become original size when DoD is introduced?

Any idea whether the main course will be heated in a separate container before being plated?

Those casseroles look ugly!

Will dine on demand be just a beefed up version of what snack service is currently? It's already disruptive enough with the FAs darting around the cabin midway through a red eye

LGW has always been A350 since it was brought in last year.

Likely an A350 and 77H were picked just to see how each planes galleys and crew complement handle it.

I don't know why cost cutting was mentioned above... If anything this will increase costs. Harder working crew and additional meals will probably have to be loaded to ensure reasonable choice.

I can't search right now, but I started a similar thread after hearing something last year. One of my sources serves in a "credible" role with information that simply wouldn't be wrong. I think the OP is posting something credible. At least, I've heard an identical thing for some time, and it wasn't from line staff.

Probably includes changing HD to Movenpick which was reported by Ming Pao in an interview with Swire Food (who just get an exclusive distribution right for Movenpick in PRC / Greater China region (not clearly specified in the news)) earlier this month...

Ugh, that's a downgrade.

I thought Movenpick was more premium?

Agree with FlyPointyEnd, and consider Mövenpick a step up from HD. FWIW, it's more expensive at 7-11

And for those hardened CX travellers, a change is good. Haagen Dazs gets boring after years and years.

I think I'd choose HD. But who cares, not an option anyway.

For US based flyers we know too well that HD is by no means 'premium'...

Yeah movenpick sells for a much higher premium in HK, but most importantly it tastes a lot more natural ^

I wonder about the 350 at ORD. I'm doing an April round trip from ORD>HKG, and already have seat assignments. I think it would be a significant disruption to move from a 4 class to a 3 class... especially with there being fewer J (38 vs. 48).

Having said that, I'd take a reassigned seat in exchange for wifi! :-)

There are actually 53 J class seats on the 77H

I highly doubt any of the existing 777 US ports will be converted to 359, and ORD won't be the first one (EWR and BOS might be, the former is making its way to the chopping board again, with LF falling through the roof). I could see ORD going to the A35K in a year or two but I hope they will keep some frames with F and send them here. Personally I'm a bit afraid of being on an Airbus for 16 hours... but that's just me

I think CX should remove the tray first!
Tray service makes it feel so cheap (like AC)

Btw @G-CIVC
Any plans of trying BR J Class?
They inherited the CX J salt and pepper "stone"
