I don't think it matters. I hardly spend on them now and keep only 10k for an Easy Banking account, still get waivers without question

Many of us did not get auto waivers for Asiamiles card. When you call in, they will offer you 18,000 miles if you pay 1,800 HKD.
If you decline, they might offer you annual fee waivers.

You can earn EY miles at 1 mile for 6 HKD and use these to book ANA.

KF too but at 25k KF vs 12k EY vs 17k AMC (NRT)
However, some seats must be AMC cos OP is a family and ANA releases more seats to AMC than partners (and I wonder whether more to *A partners than external partners like EY)

Anyone know if the 2,200 annual fee on the Amex Platinum Credit Card can be waived? They're running a reasonably interesting welcome offer at the moment with HKD 3 / MR ($120k cap) plus some City Super vouchers. Not good enough to offset the $2,200 fee though...

No - five cards you cannot waive annual fees for:

Amex Plat Cred
Amex Plat Charge
Centurion
Citi Prestige
Citi Ultima

Thanks Percy, I had never considered this card until I saw this welcome offer -- though that annual fee is too steep to justify it.

Are there any alternative 'unpublished' welcome offers for the Amex Plat Credit Card, such as those that exist for the Amex CX Elite?

But you don't get the same welcome offer?

Edit: I misread the welcome offer, and looks the same.
