Wiki of CX next-generation lounges

With that massive lounge upgrade scheme CX launched a few years ago, this thread is to monitor progress of the upgrades, rather than posting updates in random, numerous The Pier threads we have on here.

For discussions about the actual lounges and their facilities please discuss in the linked threads.

Thanks,wiki updated.

Hopefully the F section will be like a "mini Pier"

I will be there in august, although I am sure someone on here will check it out way before me.

LHR lounge has been pushed back to July now I have been told.
I am really hoping G16 becomes a J lounge alongside an expanded Cabin J, allowing them to turn the entire current Wing F+J into a huge new F lounge with a separate section for actual F passengers.

Yes let's try to keep this thread on the topic of what is actually happening, and not discuss our wishlists and fantasies

Thanks

Not sure if there will be a closure of the HX lounge in the short-term as there is no lounge space in the mid-field terminal.

According to this:
http://www.eturbonews.com/69950/hong...course-opening

Hong Kong Airlines’ brand new VIP lounge at MFC is expected to open within the year. The new VIP lounge is twice the size of the current VIP lounge “Club Bauhinia” which is located between Gate 23 and 25 on the Departure Level of Terminal 1.
And then, why would they only close The Cabin partially?

Yeah, that will lead to a great increase in overall J class lounges capcity, thanks to reopening of Pier J and the takeover of HX lounge.

I have never been to the HX lounge, but according to HX it's capacity is 506sq m/120 people (according to CX:The Pier F is 2061 sq m/231 people and The Wing F is 1697 sq m).

Also is not The Cabin the only CX lounge without showers? (appart from G16)

Not happening – CX product exec says they're not taking over the HX lounge, all that's happening at The Cabin is a refresh and some layout changes to slightly increase capacity and possibly expand the food service area.

G16 Lounge has closed down for renovation.

I visited it last Sunday and the lounge dragon advised that G16 Lounge will be closed from July 4 onwards and will reopen 1 year later.

G16 used to be managed by Maxim Catering prior to closing down, and I wonder if CX will hand it over to Plaza Premium Group upon its reopening.
