It also depends on seat neighbour. If I can get aisle and line up the missus next to me then I'm good. But all it takes is one middle seat and an overweight C9 in the aisle to ruin my flight.

aside from all the on-plane complaints, imagine the addt'l crowds crushing gate-side. And I reckon it'll take an incremental X minutes more to board, given the addt'l passengers, and incremental Y time longer to deplane, and get baggage offloaded.

KLM made the same dubious claim when they pushed out 3-4-3 https://runwaygirlnetwork.com/2014/1...o-matter-spin/
I think CX is currently 32"

The 31" is vs other carriers such as BA

My understanding was the 10 Abreast was for 777s flying regionally. In the article it states " Around six planes will have the extra seats before the end of the summer while refitting of its fleet of 65 Boeing 777s will be completed by the end of next year."

This implies the long haul fleet will be going 10 abreast as well.

Your initial understanding was not correct. Their plan has been to go 10 abreast on the 77Ws too for some time now.

Could be just an AC Rouge - same price for inferior product to ex-HKG

And then sell the extra seats for non-HKG transit pax for peanuts - as you pointed out https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...ype-fares.html

But since no one complaint about the seat width of 359 (I tried 359 Y once in seat E but feels really narrow to me... btw my BMI is well within the "normal" range) CX considers this a green light for them to go to "slim down" the size of their seat...

BTW new seat map for 10 abreast 77G = 77K is out...

I thought first were the 73Zs. Good news actually that it's the 77Gs first.

does not matter
you are the number one JQ fan boy
so you should be cheering the narrowing of seats, reduction of pitch, PUSHING for the devaluation of MPC/Asia miles, removing PTV's, removing food.

well if you want to be consistent at least!

And HaiKou Express and AirasiaHK fan boy too, number one CX fan boy. Only taking away CX's slots and handing them over to someone who has to sell them for less or pricethem as outport fares will have any realistic prospect of reducing ex-HKG fares. I'm even willing to forgive Scoot if they set up Scoot HK and take some of the hoi polloi away.

And I don't care whether it's the CCP, Australian, Russians or even another British company not Swire who fund them. Since local capital has obviously failed here.

I don't care. If CX does 100% of these things and still not reduce ex-HKG prices (or increase AM availability), we're still fxxxxxxx.

wonder if the number of crews required will need to increase, especially for the regional 777. 40 more passengers in economy is quite a increase.

While I'm obviously not happy with this announcement, I believe eventually 10 rows in economy class (for B777 series aircraft) is going to be the industry standard, and all other airlines who have not converted to 10-across yet will do so at some point.
It's like free money for the airlines and there's no reason for them to leave money on the table.

Heard no concrete plans to increase because it just it just evens out the workload for those working on the left and right aisle since there are now 4 seats in the middle so, the crew can take care two each.

It’s not our thing - as a rule we don’t cover economy.
