New livery update
CX is due to unveil its new livery November 1st on a 77W. (B-KPM) The livery will be an "enhancement" of the current livery.
-no more red on the new livery except for the Swire logo -titles are re-positioned -white "brushwing" on green tail -grey stripe remains on the fuselage Even though management has denied it multiple times, they will deny it up to the last minute. Watch this space. Cheers |

I believe B-KPM is a 77H. I have 2 flights on 77H in Nov, hopefully I get to fly on it, or at least to see it in person somewhere! |

Exciting, I love the current livery, but accept it is in need of a refresh, particularly in light of the new branding.
I just hope they will enlarge the titles and put them above the window line so people know its a CX plane! |
I don't quite comprehend why management has to deny it up to the last minute. Would've been better strategy to generate a crescendo of publicity leading to the actual unveiling.

B-KPM is at Xiamen right now, presumably doing some work and getting the paint job. Would be cool to get a peek if anybody travels there in the next week.....

Yes instead of allocating resources to this new evolution to remove a bit of colour they should spend it on something important to PAX like on-board services. Costs an absolute bomb for an exercise like this. I have to say CXs marketing is excellent but we all know it is fatal for the promise not to match the reality and it is definitely heading that way IMO.

aircraft painting does have a purpose that goes far beyond the aesthetic appearance, and it is done at regular intervals, so it does not have any bearing on other areas of service and management. Nothing unusual that from time to time airlines take the chance to refresh the livery appearance. The last major update of CX livery was around 2000, with the removal of the green stripes and plain lettering on the aircraft (and stripping the Union Jack from all planes to better emphasize HK status as a colony of the mainland)
