New livery update
 

CX is due to unveil its new livery November 1st on a 77W. (B-KPM) The livery will be an "enhancement" of the current livery.

-no more red on the new livery except for the Swire logo
-titles are re-positioned
-white "brushwing" on green tail
-grey stripe remains on the fuselage

Even though management has denied it multiple times, they will deny it up to the last minute.

I believe B-KPM is a 77H. I have 2 flights on 77H in Nov, hopefully I get to fly on it, or at least to see it in person somewhere!

Unfortunately not! This is actually one of those things where they really want to put a tight lid on!

Exciting, I love the current livery, but accept it is in need of a refresh, particularly in light of the new branding.

I just hope they will enlarge the titles and put them above the window line so people know its a CX plane!

B-KPM is at Xiamen right now, presumably doing some work and getting the paint job. Would be cool to get a peek if anybody travels there in the next week.....

From the few info given the new livery appears evolutionary rather than a complete redesigning. If they pump the expectations for a relatively minor affair they risk an adverse effect once the design is unveiled, and given the current feelings about the MPO coming changes where there is some ill will around, overall better keep as quiet as possible. I am curious about the new livery but not obsessing about it and november is not far away that the wait becomes unsufferable.

Yes instead of allocating resources to this new evolution to remove a bit of colour they should spend it on something important to PAX like on-board services. Costs an absolute bomb for an exercise like this. I have to say CXs marketing is excellent but we all know it is fatal for the promise not to match the reality and it is definitely heading that way IMO.

Lets be realistic here. CX wouldn't improve your onboard meal quality regardless of a new livery or not. :D

aircraft painting does have a purpose that goes far beyond the aesthetic appearance, and it is done at regular intervals, so it does not have any bearing on other areas of service and management. Nothing unusual that from time to time airlines take the chance to refresh the livery appearance. The last major update of CX livery was around 2000, with the removal of the green stripes and plain lettering on the aircraft (and stripping the Union Jack from all planes to better emphasize HK status as a colony of the mainland)

The changing of Green Stripes to the Brush Wing device was done circa 1994-1995, not 2000, as seen in this TV advert:

Some planes were not painted well into 1999 after the Kai Tak/CLK switch.
