It is used by RJ, and some of their flights (BKK-AMM) leave past midnight.

Is there any expectation of this lounge reopening soon?

No reason to expect so yet. By end of 2022, CX might get back up to 1/3 of pre-pandemic capacity. Their ability to restore service (flights, let alone outport lounges) has been exceptionally constrained.

What lounge does CX use in BKK? The OW website list the AF/KL lounge for BKK instead of the Miracle lounge (most OW carriers use) or JAL lounge?

CX's own website also indicates AF/KL lounge, so that should be the one. I'm not able to copy the URL now due to the heavy traffic visiting CX's website.

has anyone been to that lounge recently? Remember it being old and quite basic when I was there years ago. My preference would be the JAL lounge but I don’t think it opens around the same time CX704 departs.

Yes, the JL lounge closes when the second morning flight departs (around 9:30) and reopens around 18:00.

Clearly a deal was done with an Australian distributer. Drinkable but very ordinary wines mate !
AU Savignon Blanc unless from cooler Tasmania is very ordinary stuff (as AU is generally too hot and dry for the grape) Why not the real stuff from New Zealand ?

Totally- the addition of champagne is one big plus. Apart from that seems the lounge is still finding its way back

Was at this lounge over the weekend. There were two champagnes on the menu:
1/ Champagne Charles de Cazanove
2/ de Venoge Champage Cordon Bleu Brut

This used to be the biggest inside joke at the bar in this BKK lounge. The bartenders here are trained to offer Chandon by default, especially to unruly BA/QF passengers who don't know the difference. They would only take out the hidden bottle of champagne below the bar if you know to specifically request the Moet.

Nice to see the wine upgrade. This is far better than the other OW lounges ex BKK. Champagne is also offered in the QR lounge but you have to be flying J.

Is Moet really better than the Chandon? Price and origin aside.
