How accurate is KVS tools when it comes to showing award availabilities?

KVS tools shows there's availability for my flight (CS1) but when I call in the agent again says otherwise.

KVS Tool is fully accurate, as the data comes directly from CX.

Where do you see CS1?

Hello KVSTools!

It's no longer at CS1 but when I called the Marco Polo Diamond line at 8:00am Kuala Lumpur time it was at CS1. I actually told the agent that I see 1 available upgrade but she insisted there aren't any seats available.

Then about 30-45mins later it went back to CS@

Did someone get to it before me?

Is there any way to be alerted if a seat becomes available instead of checking every 15mins? lol.

You should have escalated to a supervisor.

Most likely, yes.

There is not, but it's very easy to re-check, once you have your search saved to [My Trips] in the KVS Tool.

Thanks for the heads up.. If I see any inventory available or it changes to CS1 I'll be sure to mention that I see one available in KVS.

Looks like it's back to CS1

Called in right away and the agent told me there are no seats available. I said I see 1 available in Business and 3 available in Premium Economy. The agent said she doesn't see that, and to call back again. Manager not available and would have to call me back. So either they don't see it or they're just not issuing the upgrades.

Edit: ok so I got off the line with another agent but this time using the regular Marco Polo line and not the diamond 3888 and I told the agent I see 1 available seat for an upgrade and he put me on hold for about 10mins. When he came back he told me the CS1 that I'm seeing is for a FULL business class redemption and not for a Premium Economy to Business. I guess that would make sense....?

The agent suggested that anytime I see it increase to call and see if its a redemption for a full business class redemption or upgrade. I finally got an agent that was helpful and didn't give me a straight up no but actually helped to check.

There have been reports that Companion Award, Upgrade and Straight Redemption have different availabilities despite all 3 sharing the U booking class.

KVS tool searches CX website based on the straight redemption I believe, which explains why you saw one seat for J redemption but when you called CX they said it's not available for PEY->J upgrade.

Makes sense now. Last night when my flight was set to CS3, I was able to select 3 full J redemptions on asiamiles.com. I guess when the availability doesn't match the full redemption on asiamiles, only then I know it's another award besides straight up redemption.

What are the odds for these flights? Any class is fine.

CX 144 27/12

Seems unsusual? many empty seats left

CX170 27/12

CX785 28/12

Can someone help me recheck the flight load of CX288 FRA-Hkg for Jan 6 Business class? And is the chance of the waitlist clearing good?

Hi guys, I called MPC hotline this morning to waitlist F from HKG to LHR in Jan 19.

The very nice lady on the line suggested to select the following flights as they have the most seats available at the moment. Much appreciated if anyone can check the load of these flights and advise the chances that they will be cleared? I am just a green member.

Jan 9, CX253
Jan 11, CX251
Jan 16, CX255

Thanks a lot.

Trying for 3 business class award seats on CX170 Jan 30th. I know it’s a long shot, but it looks like there are 2 available to book now. What are the chances I can get 3 if I get on the waitlist for all 3? Not willing to split up so if we can’t get all 3 in business would like to book premium economy which I do see availability. Thanks!

Hi guys,

After doing some research on expertflyer, my waitlisted flight now showing the below info:

Jan 9, CX 253
F1 A1 J0 C0 D0 I0 W0 R0 E0 Y0 B0 H0K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0

Jan 11, CX 251
F0 A0 J0 C0 D0 I0 W0 R0 E0 Y0 B0 H0K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0

Jan 16, CX 255
F2 A3 J0 C0 D0 I0 W3 R5 E3 Y0 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V0 S9 N3 Q0

Does that means flight on Jan 9 and Jan 11 is unlikely to be cleared?

In the meantime, I have done more digging on expertflyer and saw the following flights showing a bit more seats:

Jan 10, CX 255
F1 A2 J0 C0 D0 I0 W0 R0 E0 Y0 B0 H0K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0

Jan 14, CX 253
F1 A2 J3 C5 D4 I2 W1 R3 E1 Y0 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0

Jan 15, CX253
F2 A2 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 E9 Y0 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V3 S9 N8 Q0 O0

Should I pull the plug on Jan 9 and Jan 11 and waitlist Jan 15 and either Jan 10/Jan 14 instead? Any insight and advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
