Sorry for this question. Is this HKD or USD?

The system cannot validate your Card information at this time. Please call the customer service number on the back of your Card for assistance and reference this Facebook promotion.

appears to be USD, and you don't need to go through FB, you can just go to "your offers" after logging into your Amex account page

T&Cs
Customer must book/pay directly with the airline at specific URL: http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_US.html. Excludes physical locations, phone orders and other merchant's seen on the merchant's website (i.e. DragonAir, OneWorld, etc.) and website purchases which don't occur on the US website. Customers must PAY during the campaign dates. Enrollment for the offer is limited. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 7/31/14, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it.

Sorry it is USD and I think Amex Sync may only work for US based Amex cards.

This offer showed up under my amex Mercedes Plat charge card account when I looked through the "amex offers for you" tab of my amex online account management.

I was hoping to doubledip but this offer didn't show up for my SPG Amex or SimplyCash Plat credit cards.

You can only enroll once across all your cards. However if you have additional cardmembers, they may have that offer when logged into their account.

Chatted with AMEX troops this evening: has to be 'eligible cardmember' which means primary cardholder and not additional cards. In my example, I offered that I buy 1 PEY CX ticket for $2300 on my card and another on Mrs CRP additional card for $2300 and confirmed that I'd only get a $200 credit not the $400 I was hoping for :(

Non business AMEX PLT, US based.

PS: Travel must also occur (not just booked) before 7/31 which means the offer was moot anyhow for us (looking at 8/29 - 9/2 trip).

That really depends if the additional cardmember has this offer listed in their online AMEX account. If it does, then that additional cardmember qualifies for this promotion separately.

The T&Cs are pretty clear, you just have to purchase by JUL 31 not travel by JUL 31.

Damn, US Amex only!

CaptRobPhD May 12, 2014 9:09 am

The AMEX chatter may have been mistaken on dates but I doubt the credit: this is similar to the annual airline credit whereas all cardmembers' charges accrue towards the credit limit but credit only applies once per account. The additional cardmembers (despite different card numbers) are on same Eligible card account for the purposes of that particular credit; they are billed together. Kinda 'syncs' with what this -> https://sync.americanexpress.com/Partner/Terms <- says :( and I just reread the T&C for the deal and it only mentions purchase and not fly dates.

Amex Facebook Sync Offer: Get $200 back when you spend $2000 at Cathay Pacific

This is completely different than AMEX platinum $200 airline credit. This is an AMEX offer which is more similar to spend $30 at BP get $5 back which appears on additional cardmembers and can be "double dipped" by qualifying the offer on primary and any additional cardmember that has this offer when they login to AMEX website and enrolled in it.
