KA154/153 delays
What the hell is going on with the BLR rotation? I'm stuck at HKIA right now waiting for my 12.15am estimated departure of the 9.20pm flight (KA154). The KA153 on 1st May was also about 2.5 hours delayed due to delay on the inbound; and there's a general pattern of delays on this flight.

I've been doing BLR for 5+ years. Even before they retimed the flight into the 9pm hour the flight was late 90% of the time. It has a horrible on time performance. And most of the time if the flight was delayed it was guaranteed to be an aircraft swap meaning we lost the lie-flat-ish seats for the really old regional product. With the refurb going on at least a swap means you still have a chance of sleeping.

The only configuration I ever see on this route now is the new regional business product; which is fine for a daytime flight but it's actually worse than the old one for sleeping. Do people really like the new regional business class for overnight flights?

Ngh. Why does Cathay even bother to sell connecting flights from the KA153?
Twice in the past three weeks I've been on KA153 to connect CX520; both times missed it. This time, they decided I'd missed it because the incoming flight (which arrived at gate 26 at 10.31) was delayed. I waited around the gate for 10-15 minutes or so to get my new boarding pass and was rather dismayed to see CX520 still on gate 23 at 10.50 when I went past on the moving walkway.
According to the CX site, it actually pushed back at 10.58, vs. scheduled 10.35.
It just feels like there ought to be a rule that stops airlines selling connecting flights that they misconnect 75% of the time; simply due to commercial decision-making about the timetable.
The insult to the injury in this case is that the next flight to TYO is CX500 at 15.10 so you get to waste 4.5 hours.

Why didnt you buy a ticket with more layover time? You'd think you'd be able to catch the flight with 50 mins connecting time?!

I know but i guess most frequent traveller should know what happens if planned delay buffer< earlier flight delay... More is actually happening besides opening the door for OP when bridge still attached
