Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).

Could you please be a little bit more specific about the flight times and route? But it would never hurt to ask

Thanks! They just confirmed that information. During check-in they said to retain my first class boarding pass and request compensation. Though, from what I've read it is not much unless things have changed in the past year or two.

I think CX rule is <24 hrs = transit = higher class lounge is entitled. They value F pax a lot, so just ask. The lounge stuff at HKG are really nice.

I'm here In ORD now. To say the CX F lounge is minimal is overstating its offerings by a considerable amount

Any recent feedback on long all day layovers? Next Feb. 2016 I will be arriving in F on CX 881 @7:40am and departing CX 611 in J for CMB @8:10pm. No F on this flight.
Plan to shower and have breakfast in F lounge upon arrival, leave airport and go into Hong Kong for the day. Return to airport around 6:00pm, have another shower if needed and dinner before the flight. I want to be sure I can use the F lounge for my J departure after a 12 hour layover.

I am arriving on CX885 to HKG at 6:55pm on the 8th in First. I am then connecting to CX103 to BNE at 7:15pm on the 9th in Business.
I realize this is a mere 20 mins over the less than 24 hour transit time required to retain F lounge access.
Should I still ask for access at F lounge or are they likely to turn me away?
Thanks.
