Thanks for all the helpful comments! What time do You recommend leaving the flagship lounge if my flight is at 3:30?

Yeah, I've done that before, too. I find that while JFK and BOS nearly always head NNE from takeoff and fly eastbound, ORD seems to be on the line where it can go either way. Indeed, I have flown both east and west from ORD to HKG.

Semi off topic, can any fellow ORD regulars shed light on how lenient they are with excess baggage? Normally travel light but this time looks like 3 pieces won't make it.
Entitlement for FCL DM seems to be 3 x 32, wondering if I can get through with 4 pieces? Total probably gonna be just around 80-85kgs with the '4th' piece being a medium sized backpack...

TIA

The 2 of us have checked in a total of 8 pieces, exORD a couple of times now. DM+GO, once in F and iirc, the other time in J.

The ‘4th’ piece of each was pretty much standard cabin baggage sized, and we told the agent that it would be great if we could check in an extra piece each, rather than carry that on, but we’re perfectly happy to..(along with the small backpack that each carries).

Just a heads up CX F / DM / EMER pax no longer have access to BA F lounge; instead the 807 default F lounge is now AF-KLM lounge

J etc pax continue to be sent to BA Terraces (J).

TIME TO WIN

That’s a priority pass lounge. Enough said...

I know and my past impression was not good, so I was surprised that CX would rather use it as the F lounge, since I thought the BA lounge is better.

Both lounges are just Admirals Club / United Club standards so the lounge itself they are comparable. BA F is usually quieter though.

That being said if I were CX and BA tried to charge me F lounge access price (the same price when BA guest visits the Pier F, say), I would probably make the same decision to switch lol

At the risk of resurrecting a dormant thread, the CX website once again lists the ORD lounge for F pax as the BA First Class Lounge. Has it switched back from the AF/KLM Lounge?

Also - It has been a few years since I've flown CX F out of ORD: Do they still offer an escort through security?

Appreciate any insights the experts here may have!

The situation in Chicago is dire.

With BA moving to T3 their T5 lounges are gone and Cathay is using Swissport.

To say that the Swissport lounge is an utterly shameful offering would be the understatement of the year.

EDIT: BA lounges are still around (for now) but don’t open till 14:00 and they don’t accept passengers not flying on BA metal.
