Although I wonder if it really makes sense for CX to open a lounge just to service one daily flight. The only competition they have on this sector is UA, which granted, has a much nicer lounge, but aside from *A faithful, I don't think anyone would really choose UA over CX.

Well, that's no different from Chicago actually, which I think is going to be 10 flights per week very soon. Can't remember if YYZ is 10 per week or 11. In that respect ORD makes more sense than YYZ as ORD premium loads (paying F and J pax) are much higher than YYZ.

This would be good news as there's almost no reason to visit the BA lounge at all. There's no hot food selection at all in J (cup noodles aside) and the lounge is small and gets very crowded.

Edit: which is exactly what you said as well!

Traveling CX in F (June 2014), if CX is still using the BA F lounge... Do CX F passengers have access to the BA "First Dining Room" that is accessed through the BA J lounge?
Any word on when construction will begin for the potential ORD CX lounge?

Regarding potential ORD CX lounge, it's going to probably take about 1 year or 2. They've got to get the twice daily flights up first. And furthermore, I can't see any more space in T5 for an extra large lounge. If there's a lounge, it's probably going to be tiny.

The BA Galleries First Lounge at ORD is embarrassingly tiny. Not just tiny, but feels as narrow as a Greyhound bus. The seats are unfortunately arranged so that when it's 80% full you're only a few inches from knocking knees with your fellow flyers. No room to even cross your legs comfortably here. I purposely spent most of my time in the AA Flagship Lounge prior to switching over to T5; and I'm glad I did as the BA First lounge is really uncomfortable.
On the upside, they do have a decent barrista coffee machine with a small selection of mini deli sandwiches, fresh cut veggies (carrots, celery, cucumbers) and some bags of Smartfood popcorn, chips and some Milano cookies. There is exactly one male and one female restroom, which is not enough to support this lounge capacity. Due to the crowd around the restrooms, you're better off finding relief in the terminal area or perhaps cross over into the business lounge across the hall.
On the upside, at the CX checkin at T5, there was a very nice CX staff escort to walk us through security (as there's no TSA pre-check at T5. She basically politely parted the unfortunately long lines at security to walk us quickly through in 5 minutes tops. They will escort you to the door of the First lounge. Nice touch!

CX lounge at ORD but not JFK?
Seems inconceivable that CX would build it's own lounge at ORD for either 10x 14x weekly service when JFK has 4 flights per day or 28x weekly. That is where they need their own lounge as the BA lounge is not great. Are there any other CX stations that have 4x daily service but no CX operated lounge?

Sure, but CX uses Concourse M in Terminal 5, the international terminal. It is physically separate from the others. To get from AA, you have to exit the secure area, take a train, and reclear security at Terminal 5. Unless you're connecting to BA, which operates its own airside shuttle bus which only BA pax can use ...
