Tried 6 kiosks, cannot get my SCB PfB read. Called scb and moneyback. Both said they are carrying out system info update, date of completion unknown. Moneyback told me to check back in a week. They could have posted an update on the website and/or notices on the machines.

Geeze that sucks big time... based on earlier info here I got my SCB card and spent 25k before I got my ATM PIN....... just waiting for bonus miles to arrive and was going to move to moneyback card and put this card in the graveyard... wonder if they realized the "loophole" discussed earlier from this forum regarding SCB=>Moneyback=>Asiamiles without paying the bloody $300 fee..... Always questioned SCB as a financial services provider and this act alone has answered.

Note Shacom - don't rely on them if you need your miles quickly. In fact, you might as well redeem every month on the 13th-14th if you have a balance of 8,000 points or more.

AMEX double rewards all over town. Got email saying up to 2000 merchants you can earn double poitns or asia miles. http://amexmapping.hk/doublerewards/list/id

sounds good in theory but close inspection reveals how crappy this offers are. Trying to recognize any of these 2000 merchants have been more difficult than my dire knowledge of limited Spanish....

Eye catching, may work for some, not for me.

Thanks. Just coming up to update this (after faxing a 10 page complaint to another card issuer, the details of which I will write up after resolution)

Max $6,000 purchase in Mannings over 2 months, $3,000 a month
Max $3,571 purchase in Times Square in any one week
Min $500 per purchase in either case

So much Mannings. We're gonna end up being the cleanest FTers globally...

- Need at least three spendings [of $300 or more]
- Visa, MC only
- no bill payment, non-HKD spending. HKD card present spending, online spending and mail order OK.

Differences:
- rewards given.
- I got extra 5X (total 6X) with max 75,000 pts ($15,000/month).
- mgchau @ hongkongcard.com got 5X spending and for $3,000-$11,999 and 9X at 12,000 (I don't know what's his cap)
- min spending: me, nil; mgchau, $3,000
- no extra extra reward for hitting all three phases this time
