HSBC Rewards Cash to Asia Miles.

Slightly off topic. How long does it take for the HSBC Rewards Cash take to be credited to the Asia Miles account? I know on the website it states 4 to 6 weeks, but I can't imagine it taking that long. I know with Citibank Premier Miles, I've generally received the miles in two working days?

I don't normally list non-miles offers, but this bank (Dah Sing) is seriously giving out money so I'll risk OT to list it here.

From today (11 June) to 22 June, pay non-Dah Sing credit cards with your Dah Sing credit card and get fee waiver.

This isn't so interesting in itself, but we over at hongkongcard.com have confirmed that this offer can be used their "Daily Goodies" bill payment offer (the one I've been recommending for tax) - pay bills online ("Payeasy", including other credit cards and tax), get 1% cash back; with limit of up to $100 rebate for $10,000 payment per statement cycle. A $100 retail spending is also required in the same statement cycle as the Payeasy payment.

http://www.dahsing.com/tc/html/credi...ial_offer.html

I have 7 Dah Sing cards. I intend to use them to settle my Hang Seng bill (which is over $70,000) in seven payments of $10,000. Since my Hang Seng bill doesn't charge anything to settle other credit cards including Hang Seng, I'm gonna use Hang Seng to settle Dah Sing back when the $70,000 bill comes back in July to push the bill out to end of September.

Does anyone know if the conversion to Asia Miles options for the Fubon credit card will expire on Jun 30, 2012? If so, we need to convert all the points to Asia Miles beforehand.

HSBC overseas spending offer 14 Jun-31 Aug

http://www.hsbc.com.hk/1/2/special/c.../cards/prom208

Shacom - 3 miles for $8 overseas
= 0.375 miles per $1 spent
= 3.75%

HSBC - 40 rewardcash per $1000 spent
600 miles per $1000 spent
= 0.6 miles per $1 spent
= 6%!!!
maximum 200 RC
200 x 250 / 9 "額外" = $5,555.55

If Premier, then it’s 60RC per $1,000 spent / 0.9 miles per $1 spent / 9% with max $5,357.14

Note - online not counted

wait... you need to first spend 5000HKD to be able to earn at such rate.... so you are still better off using the cards if you can get at least $5/mile

I was going to ask the experts on here as to whether you thought I should convert my DBS dollars (around 6,000) into Asia Miles now or just wait for the next promotion, which I know may be a year away. I just can't remember the details of the last one and whether this current one is relatively good or bad. The advantage of leaving them on the card is that they don't start their 3 year countdown to expiry as Asia Miles and I have plenty of Asia Miles at the moment so I don't need them for what I use them for, which is flights. Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Id just hold on to it. Unless you somehow spent 5k on ur dbs amex, then do the change. My dbs card is currently inactive except im topping it up to 48 db$ for the final move to churn so im not bothered

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B206 Safari/7534.48.3)

Consider cost averaging - exchange a fraction of your db$ now and hold out the rest for later.

Fubon extend the miles conversion programe to Feb 2013, but starting from 1 July 2012, the one time conversion fee would be revised to $250 i.e $100 more than before.
