No minimum for 6X. That's why it's my dining card.

Is it because your 6X registration has not yet taken effect? It doesn't take effect immediately on selection (HSBC will send you a confirmation letter in something like 2-3 working days - only on letter date is your 6X effective).

2. 180K is for 2014-15. So you can blow the previous 2012-13 6X promotion limit and get reset.
Did I have to re-register on 01.01.2014? Because, I didn't do that. I've had it set on dining since the promotion started in 2012/2013.

svellman: This was raised in hongkongcard.com http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...p?id=11458&p=6

The behaviour we see is:
Principal cardholders (even if supplementary cardholders of someone else): automatic renewal of previous 6X categories. A letter was sent in late November 2013 (me: 28 November 2013) under which you were allowed to reallocate 2014-15 categories on or before 9 December 2013, otherwise your 2012-13 categories willl be carried over to 2014-15.

Supplementary cardholders who are not principals themselves: inconsistent, seems to have to re-register in most cases.

Are you a supplementary cardholder of someone else?

Check with your December or January statement, it should say something like this:

RED HOT REWARDS OF YOUR CHOICE 2012-2013 :
5X REWARDCASH IN [.....]
THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD IS FROM 01SEP2012 TO 31DEC2013.

RED HOT REWARDS OF YOUR CHOICE 2014-2015 :
5X REWARDCASH IN [.....]
THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD IS FROM 01JAN2014 TO 31DEC2015.

Checked my statement dated 09 Jan 2014 and it says:

RED HOT REWARDS OF YOUR CHOICE 2012-2013 :
5X REWARDCASH IN DINING
THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD IS FROM 01SEP2012 TO 31DEC2013.

Then checked my statement date 10 Feb 2014 and it makes no mention of this.

I am the principal cardholder by the way and nobody else using it. Looks like it may not automatically be renewed and I don't recall receiving that letter either.

Anyhow, I went on the registration website yesterday already and did the selection. Will check the next statement and hope it will reflect. Else, I'll cut the card

Interesting. Both my December and January statement mentions both lines (2012-13 and 2014-15). Maybe you can give HSBC a call and see whats up?

SC top-up feature gone?

Logged into Standard Chartered this morning. A new Rewards 360 platform for redemptions. I can no longer top-up points for redeeming miles! What happened? I don't recall receiving any mailers/information regarding the change in terms & conditions!

New interface wasn't here last week...no notification in last statement (there were three flyers but none of them was about 360 Rewards)

Update 10:30AM:

It seems the T&C were updated 20 hours ago (per Google)

Old T&C: https://www.sc.com/hk/promo/credit-c..._Catalogue.pdf

25. Cardholder can purchase 360° Rewards Points with Qualified Card when the combined 360° Rewards Points are insufficient to redeem selected Products, while the total 360° Rewards Points balance is not less than 50% of the required 360° Rewards Points. HK$0.008 per 360° Rewards Points (to be announced by the Bank from time to time) will be charged for the purchase.

New T&C: https://360rewards.standardchartered...wards.terms.hk

No more mention of $0.008, replaced with a points and pay option which does not appear to be available for AM or KF miles.

Another silent update from SCB.
Last time they did this (silent devaluation from 12 pts/mile to 15 pts/mile) we eventually wrangled a 2-week grace period from them http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...ow.php?id=3575
Looks like they haven't mended their ways.

Luckily, I already stopped using the SCB card.

With the HSBC Winter Promo and BankComm promos effectively over by end of last week, seems that it's gonna be a quiet few months before the promos are being rolled out again perhaps in May/June (for the summer holidays)?

Likely yes. I've already wiped the HSBC Red Hot Winter and Bankcomm 8X promos off the best cards list...the list will be plain and readable again

IIRC, HSBC had a promotion in March/April last year.

Some small, 300RC-capped ones

http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...ow.php?id=9147
http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...w.php?id=10039

They also offer 10%-off Wellcome coupons every half year starting last March at least.
