74A Seating Question (66 & 67)
 

Hey guys,

I will be traveling from SFO to HKG in November on a CX 74A (economy). seatguru.com reports that seats on row 66 and 67 (near the rear of the plane) are excellent seats due to the space found on the sides/front resulting from the curvature of the plane. I've tentatively booked 66A for my trip, and was wondering if anybody had any recent experience with these seats.

I had a window seat assignment in one of those rows in a 744 before, but never had that in a 74A. I expect the difference is small.

The window seats are fine with extra room. The aisle seats are not, as there are often people standing next to you waiting for the lavs. Personally I prefer an aisle seat in the front Y section to 66-68A/K.

When you say "Y section", what do you mean? Which rows are defined by the Y section?

"Y section" means econonomy (coach) class. (J section means business, F means first).

I joined this thread to get this question anwsered. I am flying near the end of this month on a 74a and booked the same seats ( which i later cancelled and rebooked at a lower price but lost the seats :( )
Basically what i received is that front = less noise , less turbulence easier to get served (for each section)

middle = Stable , possiblly loud wings block view
----
Last : the end 2 seat rows are nice and provide some legroom. Somepeople dont prefer this because of the turbulence and that you cant sleep angaints the cabin wall etc.

btw It took me a whole day to figure out this Y class thing etc :rolleyes::p so yeah its ok

Is it true that , Front of the plane , there is minor turbulence.

Middle i agree that its stable.

The back has turbulence always (through my experience)

I cant vouch for it but the busy and loud parts may not be sooo bad.

Well....the whole plane has the same turbulence. However, the rear feels it more do to movement around the center of gravity and the distance to the back. Middle will be most stable do to relatively small arm of movement.

Like a see-saw ?

Yes...basically....except the plane moves around 3 axis and the see-saw only in one.
