Is their business really that bad...

Even crappy CI charges more than that!

Until the end of this month only, take advantage of those fares while you can (I certainly am).

Indeed, the Biz Class specials were originally only in place until the end of November. Without any fanfare, CX has extended them one month to Dec-end.

I'm scheduled for Jan travel, and I'm just hoping that they'll extend by another month. Otherwise, as it stands, there won't be any I promotional fare and the TPE-LAX-TPE fare will bounce back to around NT$87,000 (not including taxes).

Still an excellent fare though for an airline like CX...

Who knows what will happen? These fares originally started out early this year then got resurrected and extended. And J is still relatively empty on many of my regional flights. (Off topic - I don't get this. Some economy fares are currently around the same price or even cheaper than their promotional I fare counterparts. Why are pax still busting economy class at the seams while premium cabins stay empty? Not that I'm complaining...)

I booked a flight for one of my employees not so long ago ex London. Cost over NT$90,000 for a discount economy ticket, cheapest I ticket was nearly $300k. Really brought home how damn lucky we are to live in Taiwan as frequent flyers.

For Ticket (A) and Ticket (B), will you guys suggest to call CX and ask them to mark it on the itinenary that Ticket (A) and Ticket (B) are "Conjunction Tickets" (not sure if this is the correct term), so just in cases if DELAYS or CANCELLATION in the first leg of ticket (A) or the last leg of ticket (B), CX will make compensation to you or do her best endeavours to send you to the distination???

I don't know the answer to this, but what I usually did was to pick HKG-TPE and TPE-HKG flights combinations that use the same plane...i.e. my TPE-HKG is actually served with the plane that just took me HKG-TPE. in that case my TPE-HKG shouldn't depart anyway before I arrive in TPE. but of course I won't know for sure, but just my own best guess by looking at the plane types and time on the ground etc...

I've been searching for a thread I read a few days ago about ex-TPE biz fares, but can't find it (did I make this up?)

Someone had posted a list of the eligible cities. Can anyone direct me to this thread? Apologies because I know I'm being an idiot!

It looks like although the sale is officially over, many of these fares are still in place.

Here is the thread on it

Unfortunately, I think the deal is over now. Was effective till end of Dec 2009.

Thanks for the info. I don't know how I missed it!

It looks like there are still some pretty good fares on some of these routes, but not quite as low as this. I'm looking at TPE-MNL for 10,774, which doesn't seem too bad. Jakarta is under $12k.

I'm in HKG now and am looking for something to do for a few weeks. I was going to go to TPE (hear they have great dumplings) but was trying to find something for after that. Would love to rack up a few miles.

Is I class very variable? TPE-CGK jumps in cost

Hi all,
I have been monitoring TPE-CGK-TPE in J for a couple of weeks and there was plenty of I class availability for dates in mid march.
I look on the website tonight and all of a sudden they have disappeared from most ex-TPE routes.
Is this normal? or have they withdrawn I class fares now?
The cost of the original ticket i had in mind has a least trebled in cost.. :(
cheers
steve

I class often have advance purchase requirements so you may just have gone past the deadline.

jiaotze Jan 30, 2011 3:52 pm

I can't be sure of the I fares for CGK, but the I fares to BKK were available for purchase until January 20. The fares are now gone, but will return in mid-February (can't remember the exact date) after the Lunar New Year rush is over. Indeed, the price for D to BKK during the New Year period is roughly double than the very reasonable I.

Couldn't get any I fares despite doing dummy bookings several months out...
