Transfer all points to Asia Miles
Hello,
I am not a professional Frequent Flyer maximizer and don't travel that much 3 Europe-Asia trips a year. I now live in Vietnam. I have some BA miles and Vietnam Airline miles. Should I transfer everything to Asia miles and then use those so that I group my miles under one card? I ask because I am trying to go SGN-KIX and BA doesn't fly it but a partner airline JAL does fly it but I can't book it on BA's website and their executive service in Asia says to contact Asia Miles. I now created an Asia Miles account but I have no points so as I understand it I need to transfer my BA miles to Asia Miles. So I am confused, I niavely see Asia Miles as just a group of carriers with 1 card to simplify getting and redeeming points. thanks for advice. Daniel |

Daniel And actually I think you cannot "Transfer" your BA miles to Asiamiles |
There is no way to transfer miles between frequent flyer progammes (at least not at any sort of sensible exchange rate).

i know that points.com lets you do it but i'm not sure what the drawbacks are and they charge a fee as well.. i'm not sure..

thank you everyone for quick useful insights. Yes I didn't realize exchange rate kills it all.

Daniel If its anywhere other than asia, then you do NOT call the asian line. BAEC members in asia use their miles in asiamiles. If you're not a BAEC member in asia, then you do not book through asiamiles but through your normal home country line. |
