Expert Flyer.com

Hi all,

Anyone had enrolled into the membership of expertflyer.com? Any benefit of being the member? or what can we get from that website?

Sorry that if anyone had already posted in another thread.

Please advise.

Thanks!

I am.

I think it's great. Saved mine (and my collegues) bacon on many an occasion. Plus I use it to research flights for holidays and seat maps before booking flights.

Well worth it IMHO.

Hi LHR Tim

Thanks for your information, by the way, how much is for the membership a year? we can't do actual booking in the website or request upgrade, rite?

I use EF very often for looking up flights and finding options which I wouldn't have ordinarily considered. One time I saved my company HK$30K by finding a JL flight to North America that was cheaper than a corresponding CX J fare.

Nice because you can search by alliance and/or by airline.

Also seat maps are good. Nice to be able to tell your TA which seat number you want instead of something vague like "aisle seat near XYZ area".

I have the Premium version and well worth the $10/month for anybody who travels somewhat often. For the frequent traveller, it's a must.

$99.99 per year (if you prepay 12 months) or $9.99 per month.

No booking engine's it's strictly for looking up info. One thing you may want to consider is that it does not have redemption/upgrade availability info for CX/KA.

Thanks Midlevels!

In this case, i have to reconsider since i usually fly with CX/KA. Again, really appreciate your information.

oh, that's good~! i misinterpret that it doesn't include seat availability of normal booking (other than redemption).

Thanks for your clarification.

I find Expertflyer reasonably accurate for CX & KA, and it's good as a general indicator of flight loads and relatively ok at predicting Op-ups. My travel agent was impressed with the loading information, but of course his ABACUS terminal is realtime, so its better.

Regarding award inventory, this is a closely guarded state secret of CX. CX revenue management can turn revenue seats into award if needed, so even if you have a Reservation terminal, it won't show any award information.
