HKG security policy for liquid medication?
Hi- I have a trip tomorrow that connects me from LAX thru HKG and onto KHH. I've gotten over a cold (thankfully) but this lingering cough requires prescription medication (cough syrup) exceeding 100ml. I know the security @ LAX will not be a problem since it has my name printed on it. I saw brief mention of this on CX website but it didn't specifically say if >100ml would be an issue. Will I have this problem during the transfer screening process @ HKG? I'd normally just check this in, but I still need to take this thing every 6 hrs or so until this cough goes away. Thx :)

You'll be fine - your name on the label is sufficient: http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/p...q.html#new_q15
And this is of course totally pointless security theatre since I could trivially print any label saying that the bottle is cough medicine when in fact it is high explosive. |

Made it thru no problems! Actually, TSA @ LAX TBIT was a joke last night. Aside from putting advertisements into my checked luggage (see another posted thread in the security forum), they didn't even peek into the bag. I didn't "declare" the >100ml bottle, nor did they even say anything after it went thru.
At HKG, I didn't "declare" it but they did see it in the xray and asked me about it. You are right about the high explosives in "prescription" bottles though. |
