Some critical commentary on the CX 134 menu
The breakfast was good - I had the egg noodles with dim sum. The dim sum were well prepared and hot. The egg noodles were well enlivened with the addition of chilli sauce.
The lunch was overall disappointing. The grilled prawn starter was flavourless - I could not detect prawn flavour in the prawns, and the wasabi mayonnaise had no wasabi that I could taste! The stir-fried pork was good - the ginger and garlic were not too overpowering. Unfortunately the rice and vegetables did not survive the re-heating process as well as the pork. The fresh seasonal fruit at both breakfast and lunch was lovely - fresh, sweet and seasonal! The business class meal service was excellent overall in terms of the trolley service, bar service from the cart, quantity (seconds were offered for many items) and timeliness. Just the flavours on some individual items were a let down. |
I noticed on the most recent wine list posted that the Oriental Breeze is being offered this month. Does this (hopefully) mean that the Cathay Delight will be on offer in the odd months this year?

What class of service are cappocino, espresso and latte offered? I was reviewing the menus and they all seem to say "Coffee and Tea" but I was pretty sure that at least First had a wider selection.

Has the cheese course been cut from regional business class?
I usually skip the main course and make a meal from the appetizer, salad cheese and dessert courses. This would not make me happy. |

When you consider that SQ has cheese and crackers even in Y to HKG, you can tell how much cost-cutting CX has done over the last few years. And to think that they're charging HK$15k I have no doubt that anyone paying for J on this route would fly SQ instead.
Same goes for BKK. I got my dad to BKK during CNY in TG full fare J for HK$5k all-in. The cheapest J fare (which I couldn't get) was HK$3,870+tax and CX was asking for HK$3,500+tax in K class. Yes, they give you cheese and crackers in J class on TG too. Given that most of the planes TG are sending (barring any last minute equipment changes, of course) have angled lie-flat J vs regional J on CX, it's a no brainer. |
Hey Guys,
What sort of Snacks are served in Cx Y class? |
