Delay of 777 deliveries?
Sorry I can't find the link, but I remember reading a day or two back about CX potentially delaying Boeing deliveries at this point - with the exception of 747-8s for cargos, aren't the only remaining Boeings on order 777 ERs?

I think the SCMP today said there are also 747-400ERFs on order.

There is more information on Cathay Pacific News section. The press release on Nov28th about financial crisis.
http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_...000ad21c39____ It states that 748 and 773ER will be delayed. |
The 77W deliveries have been pushed back because of the Boeing strikes.

The Boeing strike is I think more a good excuse for airlines to cover up the need to push back deliveries in a very uncertain future - and currently declining - economic environment. I think there's a good chance we'll see Cathay cutting back 777 deliveries far greater than the magnitude of the 57 day strike, especially taking a look at some of their equipment and capacity changes (the general theme seems to be smaller and less) going forward. |
CX has sold 5 triple 7 s to Trans Aero and has parked a further 8 planes in the desert according to a senior pilot

Maybe some 747s with new config, non existent AC power, malfunctioning IFE and broken J class seats? It's cheaper than fixing them?
I hope they are sending LHR-based FA to look after the planes, keeping the aluminium well moisturised! |
