what to do- upgrade
 

I will be flying this coming Saturday,JFK-BKK-JFK, upgradable ticket and I have enough miles for a segment, . I am tempted to upgrade , but I would like to use my miles for a rtn USA-LHR next year with BA for a week end to visit my old London and T5- lounges. How easy is to redeem on BA? I do not care from any gateway. But I searched JFK-LHR in January and it is only $560. This is the dilemma.

It has been pretty easy for me to get BA seat for HKG/LHR, not too sure about ex JFK. Your DM status would certainly help.
