Lost for choice with CX Upper Deck seating.

Booked on CX253 HKG LHR.
Seat plan shows me the new seating.
I am sure there are few of you who have flown this route with the new seating.
Please be kind enough to advise which seat is the best out of 81A 87A or 88A or even 87K or 88K.
Thanking you in advance.:

They're all pretty much equally as bad as each other.

Or they're all pretty much equally as good as each other. (christep does not like the new J :)).

81A is the best seat as you get a large side locker and it is always the first one to be taken.

but you also have to bear in mind that 81A is extra claustrophobic (the other seats are already claustrophobic enough in their own right)

the reason i say that is because there is virtually no window - you must turn 180 to see anything ..

on that note, both the CX 252 and 250 flights today have been switched to thr 744 and boy, am I happy to get a proper window seat on the UD this time round!

I haven't noticed any difference between the new(ish) JCL seats, unlike the prev config where I've always gunned for 86AC. These days I simply pick a seat that's reasonably close to the galley, for ease of accessing top ups - especially when the Billecart is served. ;)

I flew in 81 and it was fine seemed extra room copared to others

The first row may have less feet view, but once you pull out the LCDTV, all the seats are pretty much the same.

Row 87/88 A/K are not really that good if you plan on skipping meal and sleep thru, because FAs like to stop and setup trolly at the emergency exit space next to those seats, and may bump on your cubicle wall. You may find that annoying if you are sleeping.

And due to the curvature of the cubicles, pick column K if you are right handed, you will have more room for your right elbow when having meal(especially when cutting steak), and for writing. Likewise, pick A if you're left handed.
