HKG lounge access question

Hi - I'll be on a paid F itinerary on CX in March from HKG>TPE>HKG. Does this entitle pax to use HKG F lounge? I ask because it's such a short flight I wonder if they reserve F lounge access to long-haul only. Also, what's the lounge situation in TPE? I've never flown on CX or used their lounges so any info will be appreciaed. Thanks.

You will be given a lounge invitation for the F lounge at check-in. If your flight departs from the gates 1-32, turn right immediately after security to enter the F section of The Wing. If your flight departs from gates 33-80, you might wanna use The Pier. Take the APM and walk towards gate 63. The entrance of The Pier is very subtle.

If time permits, you can visit both lounges. If that's what you want make sure they stamp "Lounge Re-entry" on your BP.

Thank you, kchika. I'll have some time to spare so you think it's worth visiting both lounges? Is one considered to be nicer than the other?

It's a matter of personal preference. The Wing has is an open air lounge so it can be quite noisy at times. I prefer The Pier as it is a closed environment and whenever I'm there I feel that it's less crowded than The Wing.

For people's opinions about The Wing and The Pier:

If this is your first time using our homebase lounges and have time to spare, then it is worth paying a visit to both. Otherwise, it can be quite a hike from The Pier back to The Wing, although I've heard that there's an APM somewhere that can take you back to gates 1-32. Anyone care to comment?

* Correction - turn left (not right) immediately after security.
* You need to go downstairs for Pier. Take the entrance at Gate 63 as said above, not at Gate 65.
* Just in case, get the re-entry stamp on the BP immediately when entering the lounge. It should be a red stamp.

Thanks for the tips! Looking forward to it.

Is that even necessary? I always thought all you needed was an F boarding pass or DM/OW Emerald status and continuing OW boarding pass to enter any OW F lounge. As I understand it, simply his boarding pass should suffice as permission to re-enter any CX lounge.

From the CX Website:
The Pier - First Class Lounge (Airside)
Admittance
First Class Passengers
(Passengers on either Cathay Pacific or Dragonair flights)
Diamond Card members
oneworld Emerald members

It is the same for the Wing. It doesn't really say anything about about re-entry stamps. And I've used both my Y (with status designation) and sometimes J boarding passes to re-enter lounges before.

Stamping will help safe time as the agent don't have to recheck the pass in the computer

Ugh! I've not been to the F section for a long long time :( Thanks for the correction.

You can't do that anymore, because the train now 'loops' back onto the Arrivals platform (gates 33+ to immigration) instead of 'reversing' to pick up another load of departing pax (immigration to gates 33+).

As answered by rtwdone4, it saves time. Also, if you reenter a lounge with people in line for some other matters, you can just show the red stamp and enter instead of waiting in line (that is why you need to make sure it is a red stamp). If OP has a guest, the guest's BP need to be stamped for re-entrance anyway.

You are not alone. I am just picky. This is the second time I "corrected" the "left" vs "right" within a month. I forgot who the other person was, but should be a DM member who posted the wrong direction too.
