BA award question

just a quick question, i am trying to use my asia miles to fly on BA from LHR-TLV at the end of october and it seems that almost all seats are taken up, i have a confirmed seat however it is 2 days after i wanted to leave. what are the chances that as time goes on BA will open up more seats?

Perhaps you should be asking this at the BA forum.

However from personal experiences, I have known BA to open up seats periodically and you can check for award availability at ba.com.

the reason i chose to ask this here is because i am using asia miles to book on BA meaning it doesnt matter what BA offers their members its what they offer asia miles

Actually, if there is an award seat available at all on BA, it is open to members of all programs, not just BA's.

So there's no difference between BAEC and CXMP as far as award seat availability is concerned.

Best suggestion is to simply try every few days - there's no other alternative really...

There is some difference on priority in award seat availbility for different programmes (MPC vs others). In fact, there is BIG difference if the passenger is a MPC DM. When there is a problem getting availability, a MPC member can call MPC hotline and has a better chance of getting cleared.

Yep I know that there's definitely a difference wth CX giving MPC members priority and waitlisting... I've been waitlisted and confirmed sometimes so no question about that.

But BA and BAEC don't do that - you cannot waitlist at all on BA, and with their program, you simply have to keep trying periodically to see if a seat opens up...
